Tom Mariam
Tom Mariam has more than two decades of professional experience in the communications industry, both as a public relations executive and as a journalist. Mr. Mariam works closely with a diverse group of clients on a wide range of communications issues, including strategy, visibility, and media relations.
Mr. Mariam was Director of Global Communications for Clifford Chance, the world's largest law firm where he developed and executed a worldwide communications program.
Mr. Mariam spent three years as Senior Manager of Public Relations at the global consulting firm Booz∙Allen & Hamilton where he organized a worldwide press relations campaign for Booz∙Allen's 200 partners and its 10 practice groups as their major liaison to the news media.
As a senior vice president at Rubenstein Associates, Mr. Mariam handled the public relations campaigns of for several of its major clients. He joined Rubenstein after 11 years at the American Stock Exchange, where he led the media relations program, with a special focus on the broadcast media. At the Amex, Mr. Mariam originated the first live television broadcasts from the trading floor of a major stock exchange. He also produced and hosted the nationally-syndicated radio show, “Amex BusinessTalk,” interviewing hundreds of CEOs, political leaders, analysts and pundits.
Mr. Mariam’s career is rooted in journalism. He was a news writer and editor for Dow Jones and The Wall Street Journal Broadcast Division. He also was News Director of WNBP in Newburyport, MA. He has remained active in broadcasting, currently hosting “The Metro Golf Show,” the only radio program devoted to golf in the New York Metropolitan areas.
Mr. Mariam graduated from Columbia University in 1978 with a B.A. in political science and earned a M.S. degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1980.
