Dr. George McCartney

Dr. George McCartney is currently a full professor of business communications at St. John’s University and principal trainer on staff at JFCI since 1981. In addition to communications training, Dr. McCartney is an experienced speechwriter, having prepared texts for both corporate and industry-wide audiences. These include major addresses for such prestigious organizations as Holiday Inn, Westinghouse, and the QVC television.

Dr. McCartney, former editor of The New York Times Information Bank, has written for various publications, including National Review, The American Spectator, Kiplinger's, and The New York Daily News. He currently writes a movie critique column for Chronicles Magazine. His essays and articles have been included in collections published by Macmillan, St. Martin's, and Columbia University Press. His book, Confused Roaring, a study of Evelyn Waugh, is used by various universities as a scholarly resource for British literature courses.

Dr. McCartney has a Bachelors of Arts from Manhattan College, a Master of Arts from Brooklyn College, and completed his doctoral work at the City College of New York.
